A short while back my wife started taking care of another child three days a week. He's one of the cutest babies in the world, so he's a perfect companion for our baby Alison. Upon meeting his parents, my wife mentioned that we had a baby blog, and apparently so did this little boy's father. However, both parties seemed a bit reluctant to exchange web addresses. Frankly, if I was married to myself, I'd be embarrassed too.
Anyway, it has been brought to my attention that they have stumbled accross this weblog, and amazingly they still brought their little boy to our house today. My only conclusion is that they must be as strange as we are in some way. Actually, from the looks of their site, I can pretty much guarantee it!
I won't tell you the name of the child, but I'll tell you the nickname I have given him: BIG BANK HANK.
For those of you not up on your old-school emcees, Big Bank Hank is the guy in the center there, with the super-wide collar and the gold chains. I guess if his parents don't like it, I'll have to think of something else.... but personally, I think it's a good nickname. After all, who doesn't love a guy with a big bank?
Big Bank Hank is the MAN!
If you're craving baby updates, go to my wife's baby blog. For example, today we went to see Santa Claus. There's a picture, even.
I know that many of you are wondering what happened to the "baby blog" - why did we stop updating it? Where did the baby go? Is she still cute? What is she doing? And the truth is, I just couldn't keep up.
HOWEVER
Irene has come to the rescue and has started (today) updating the baby blog again. So rejoice, all you baby people, family and friend folk, who yearn for daily updates of the baby cuteness. It's all there, in it's roly-poly splendor.
By the way, lots more baby pictures posted on Flickr. See the links to the September and October photo albums to the right...
Here is one of Alison playing in her little "activity center" thing...

and this one is a demonstration of her excellent "raspberry" skillz.

The quality is sucky, but I did that on purpose for you poor people on dial-up connections.
Enjoy!
Here is a video of Alison laughing, which is quite entertaining. Right click and choose "save as..." (or if you have Firefox click "save link as...")
Enjoy!
I have finally organized all our August baby pictures on Flickr and put them together in a photo album.
As you can see from the pictures, Alison is holding her head up now, but not sitting on her own yet. She is also rolling over and as of yesterday, teething. She has two little teeth poking through her bottom gums ALREADY! She is also over 16 pounds now, which is still in the 90th percentile.
Her size makes buying baby clothes confusing, because the clothes are supposedly based on age. If you don't understand, or you don't have kids yet, and you want to buy Alison some clothing, let me explain. Alison is 4 months old. This means that she should be fitting nicely into anything in the "3 to 6 months" size. However, she has now outgrown 3-6 month stuff, and is in to the "6 to 9 months" area.
Now I am thinking back to last year, when we were trying to plan ahead by buying her season-appropriate clothes in certain sizes. Now that winter stuff we bought in "6 to 9 months" could end up too small by the time the cold weather rolls around. Grrr!
Anyway, big baby. The other funny thing about a 16+ pound, 4 month old girl, is that by the time a baby is 16 pounds you hope they can sit up on their own. Because when they're all floppy and roly-poly, they get heavy after a while. Oh well, enough complaining! Go look at the pictures already!
I really just wanted to show off this really nice baby shirt we got from Dayment. The last time she wore this, she peed on it pretty much right away. So this was the first time we could get a picture...
Unfortunately I think she has pretty much grown out of it already.
Baby scream all day today. Follow simple pattern: poop, eat, poop, eat, poop. Baby forgot to sleep between poops. Too bad for mommy and daddy!
Mommy and Daddy went on date Friday. Went see Star Wars. Pretty good movie. Had some simple complaints like "Why billionaire George Lucas don't get help with script writing?" and "how come Yoda still best actor in whole movie?" Anyway, had fun.
Went go look at house today. Brought screaming baby, didn't stay long. Look at more houses Thursday. Wish houses weren't so 'spensive.
Must sleep now.
