Not much happens at the beginnging of the year.
The girls got African drums for Christmas, so there's been lots of drumming lately.
Here's Alison and her Auntie Erin playing some beats.
Then there's the Seahawks love.
Here we are all ready for the big game - or ready for bed, more like. The game was televised here but it didn't start until around 1am! Chris stayed up but I had to wait until morning and we showed the girls some highlights after school. They mostly enjoyed the half-time show.
Anyway, we took a "we won" picture.
And a "we lost" picture. Sadly it was the latter, but the picture was way off, we should have looked more "what the @#!*% happened?!?" rather than sad.
In January, Zuzu had her class assembly. It was all about inventors and magnificent machines. In this particular scene Alexander Graham Bell is helping deaf children. Zuzu practiced a lot for her role as a deaf child, she's really believable around bedtime every night.
Alison's term topic was Mexico, so her class assembly was all about the Aztecs. She had a speaking role and everything! She did brilliantly. She played a school child, which was a stretch, but she pulled it off and didn't even have to change into a costume. Here she's playing the maracas while the class sings "La Bamba".
Zuzu managed to scrape a snowball together off the hood (bonnet) of the car. They got to play for like 5 minutes before school and that was it.
I also wanted to share 2 of my favorite quilts I've ever made.
They're not the fanciest or most intricate but they're Harry Potter!!!
I got the idea because the favorite colors of the kids I made them for just happened to work with the house colors in Harry Potter and they love Harry Potter. It was just so perfect, I couldn't help myself. I think they are so cool!
Anybody else want a Harry Potter quilt? Just let me know. I want to do one with the Hogwarts crest in the middle and all 4 house colors represented equally. Perhaps I'll make smaller ones for the girls.
