We hope you all had a Happy Halloween.
Ours was good, with the exception of the costume crisis we had about a minute before leaving the house for Trick-or-Treating. The kids were running around the house like crazy people and Alison ripped half of her butterfly wing off on a doorknob - it set us back a few minutes. Gail and Chris were trying to fix it with a hot glue gun and some duct tape. I eventually found a spare set of wings (Ali pointed out that they did not match her costume) but it was good enough to get us all out the door.
We added a few more houses this year and for the most part the kids were pretty good with manners, remembering to say "trick-or-treat" and "thank you". Not surprisingly, Zuzu was overheard saying "Can I have more?" at one of the houses. She said it was because she wanted a different kind, and I assured her that no matter what you just say "thank you" and move on. "But I wanted a green one and I didn't get a green one." It's so hard to talk to this child sometimes. Also noteworthy was when she was given a bag of chips at one house and said "in Spanish I call these Baritos". So silly

Isn't there always a "just before leaving" crisis on Halloween? I remember lots of them!
